Any word on this issue? Is somebody from core going to create a forum where they can post delayed updates?
Without access to donor forum , you have no clue *if* there has been any updates posted. You are assuming that there has been *some* updates posted and there possibly could be or there possibly is none. Whatever be the case, if there something for which ground level volunteers will be required, it will definitely get posted on open forums. If it is a strategic thinking/planning, I doubt still if it will be posted on the donor forum as such things need to be kept to a close group of people until you are ready for implementation. Disclosing this earlier will not work in favor of such strategic planning.
And of course, if there is a new bill passed or others, it will be everywhere in media - you may just know it when it gets passed rather than a couple of hours/days/weeks early.
If you believe in the cause of IV and I'm assuming that you do since you are here - I'd say go ahead and support it in all possible ways and dont worry too much about donor forums. Give or take 3 months plus a month , it will lose its charm.

Traveling for the 1st time on AP (used H1 stamp previously, now I am on ead), wanted to know how the experience at SFO is. Do they always send you for secondary inspection? Anything else to know beforehand?

no, when you go for visa stamping the first thing they typically do is stamp a 'cancelled without prejudice' on yuor old visa, and they also usually take your I-94. So if you do get a 221(g), then the typical option is to either wait it out or take the passport back and go to the home country.

I dont have any changes to status when I check my 485 case status online but today in the mail i received I797c notice welcoming me as a premenant residence. I am a bit hesitant to celebrate, but am I seeing green?:o

For every IV member that gets their GC, would it be too much to ask them to contribute say at least $100/- ? May be this can become a norm and the starting point for an "IV Alumni" :)
The folks who will be getting their GC's in the next 2 months can show the way - Along with posting the happy news that you got your GC and of course posting your RD and ND and PD and the fact whether you had AC21 or EAD or whatever :), will it be too much to give something back to the community that helped you all the way?
I think this would be a noble gesture in support of this organization that has supported the cause of lots and lots of employment based immigrants.

I am in the same boat as you. I landed in Sep 2006 and have valid Canadian PR till Sep 2011. My 3 year expiry is nearing. And I am really confused with my EB3 India 2004 PD in retro. But also I have gotten married and not applied my wife on my Canadian PR at all. So that is another problem. I intend to voluntarily relinquish my Canadian PR status and then re-apply brand new with my wife this year as US H1B and GC process rules with USCIS is getting weirder by the day.
Also you can absolutely without any problem go and stay for next two years (730 days) before your first PR card expires even though you were out of Canada or were never resident there for first 3 years and retain your Canadian PR status. I know it for sure.

I don't have a machine with VS / Blend installed right now, but the reason it isn't working is because you need to actually get a reference to your existing XmlDataProvider and then update it from there. This is almost identical to the Modifying a Databound Collection case: http://www.kirupa.com/blend_wpf/modifying_databound_collection_pg1.htm
Looking at your code, you would need to something similar to the following.
XmlDataProvider existing = Window.Resources["MetadataDS"] as XmlDataProvider;
existing.Source = new Uri(filename);
I am writing the above without the use of VS, so there is a chance it might not work. Let me know if it fails and I can look into it further :)

Yes for new applicants it's wonderful. For old applicants it's double the money and double the time (to get GC counting time from the first time they applied for GC ) or even more time than the new applicants.

I am not sure I understand. My wife resides in Mumbai. She had her h1 stamped there some time back around 5 years. That h1 she used and is gone now. Now she applied for h1 in fresh qupta since she was out of us for more than one year. Right now so where should we go for stamping. Shes in us with me on h4. Can we go to canada?

All that we are doing now is letting the media know that legal immigrants have huge issues and unresolved problems. We are writing to them that things have been very unfair. We are educating them............

Btw, besides my contribution, I have made more then 20 people to contribute and as well made more then 50 to become IV members by creating threads in forums like murthy.com & immigration.com. I'm the first person to let the people in Cisco systems to know about IV during its initial stage by mailing to the common email aliases used by Indians and Chinese and only person to do so until Apr 15, I left Cisco after that. I faced lot of criticisms but even then I would mail at least once in 3 weeks and remind them the importance of joining and contributing to IV. I believe there are at least 100 members from Cisco.
I made my friends to contribute and made them to post details about IV in companies such as HP, NetApp, BMS, and Symantec etc.
I have also volunteered when the admin or shery wanted volunteers.
I may not have done exceptional contribution when compared to the core members and senior member like you but did contribute to best of my effort and have email proofs/appreciation from members who have joined and contributed because of my initiation. Please send a private msg with your contact email, I can forward those emails.
